2. Vaudeville Variety Revue Berlin

On Saturday I went to the second Vaudeville Variety Revue in TIPI am Kanzleramt, hosted by Shiela Wolf and showcasing an extravagant list of artists strutting their stuff in burlesque, boylesque, cabaret, dance, comedy and tease plus absolutely stunning acrobatics. Not only was the show beautiful, and breathtaking, the audience was in and of itself interesting to peruse -never before was I at a show where people in jeans and tshirts mingled with those decked out in cocktail costumes from the '20s and burly muscle men wearing feather boas next to rockabilly dames. It was a sight to be seen, my friends. I forgot my sketchpad, but took some photos for sketches later... Here a few of the beautiful people:

buy some art, talk to artists, all for a good cause! I'll be donating a
few sketches too.

Dr. Sketchy #50 @ Ballhaus Berlin

What a beautiful venue for Dr. Sketchy's 50th session in at the Ballhaus Berlin! The team went to great length to synchronise a chilling narrative with the perfect soundtrack to tell the horrifying tale of the Vampire of Düsseldorf, and all hands were involved in the poses and performances, which was an added treat. Additionally to the poses with Le Pustra, Eden Berlin and Julietta la Doll, we were also treated to Miss LalaVox's mesmerising tones, complimented by DJ UFO Hawaii on guitar and LePustra on a weeping saw. This was even creepier than the redruM session in 2013. I absolutely laud and appreciate all the work and effort you've put in to Dr. Sketchy's Berlin and look forward to the next 50 artistic adventures in burlesque!

Walking with Dinosaurs

Was inspired to do a bit of dinodrawing again in preparation for seeing the Walking with Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular (www.dinosaurlive.com) and meeting up with Philip Millar, who I met way back at work experience in grade 10 when he was working on an impressive Smaug puppet at Mother's Art -a precursor to the dinosaurs, perhaps? What an inspiring and innovative production -everything to love about theater and masterful puppetry, artfully married with animatronics. If you're in Melbourne, or any of the planned stops on the current tour, (or any in the future) it's definitely worth the visit.
